About the Author

I’ve worked as a reporter, writer, researcher, communications consultant, health promoter, teacher, and artist.

I recently defended my doctoral dissertation in Cultural Studies at Queen’s University in Kingston. My work was focused on the stories we tell each other about food insecurity, homelessness, and poverty.

I’ve been writing fiction and poetry all of my life. I’ve just secured a publisher for Stuffing the Bus, a middle grade graphic novel (with illustrator Amanda White), and I’ve turned to developmental work on my third book for adults, Reason.

My partner and I live in rural Nova Scotia.
